LINK - Birthday card design by DreamworldStudio LINK - Birthday card design by DreamworldStudio
...and now for something COMPLETELY different...or not so much so...

Spent a better part of my late afternoon and evening working on this for my eldest niece's birthday. :D

I LOVE making homemade greeting cards, especially when it involves subjects I generally love to work with! XD ehehe Most of the time I do resort to using digitally created art for card as it's a bit faster and it gives me the opportunity to experiment with different techniques, such as the sort of 'paper cutting' sort of look...I DO have to give the ending of LoZ:Phantom Hourglass MUCH of the credit for the inspiration to explore such techniques and apply them to my card making...SO FUN!!! XD

Yesyes...I got the lil booger into Legend of Zelda at an early age...she doesn't yet play it as most of the game scares her a bit, but am sure when she's a lil older she'll definitely take interest in playing it! XDehe...and it also helps that I made/sewed her Link costume for Halloween last year(2009)...so yea...she's a fan no matter what! XDehe

ANYways!!! I think this is pretty self explanatory...my artwork created specifically for the card and envelope are presented here along with photos of the completed printed and assembled card and enveloped, along with the wrapping paper I also created, printed and wrapped about her birthday gifts...she's a BIG reader at her young age, so yea, those are books! ^_^V

The card itself folds to about 2.5"x3.5"...so it's an itty bitty card! cause it's INFINITELY cuter that way! XD

Artwork created in Photoshop 7.0...card art printed on matte finish photo paper, envelope and wrapping paper printed on plain ole inkjet/copy paper

ENJOY! :D

P.S....I'd SO love to do all my Holiday card designs this way...but with the enormous amount of cards I'd have to produce, it's just WAY too time consuming ;_; and lordy knows I so lack that now >,< D'OH!!

Thanks dear! And that's great to hear! ^_^<3

I sold out of them at Otakon, so it looks like I'll need to make more of the same and maybe even design a new one to sell! :D<3

Too bad the process is so time consuming, I would totally love to buy a card like this from you (my friend is obsessed with Zelda).

Well!! I just might make some up to sell at AB this year! XDehehe...and perhaps, depending on how it turns out and IF I can do it well enough, will see if I can create a Mario related one....though something tells me I should just stick to Link and Zelda! XD LOL

Well if you do make some Link ones I will definitely be over to purchase one! :D I know my friend would love one for her birthday.

Maybe see how the Link ones do and then create Mario ones the following year? Though something tells me cards would be quite popular.

sweeeeeeeeet!! XD Then I shall definitely make sure to put one aside for you! XDehehe

And yea...the original card was about....oh...well...TINY!!! XD LOL...I think when folded it measured about the size of a business card! XD LOL...so I WILL be enlarging it to a 4x5 sized card, complete with accompanying resized envelope!^,^V

....hmmm...just had a thought...perhaps I can add a lil of that there clear super fine prism glitter to Ciela/Navi/fairy/whatever you want to call her! XDehe Cause yea...I just can't sell a card like that without a lil extra glitz! XDehe

Hmmmm....good idea! T_O;;...am not too big of a Mario fan...so am probably safer just sticking to the Link one and make it that much more special! XDehe...we'll see! XDehe

Thanks! I appreciate it (and I know my friend will too!) I think a sparkly navi would be perfect! ;) Everyone loves glitz!

I agree, Link > Mario. :D

D'aww i would die to have an aunt like you! it's really nice to know that you take the time to make cards for your family! it would be a nightmare for me if i had to print and cutout all of those wonderful art works.
