...and now for something COMPLETELY different...or not so much so...
Spent a better part of my late afternoon and evening working on this for my eldest niece's birthday.
I LOVE making homemade greeting cards, especially when it involves subjects I generally love to work with! XD ehehe Most of the time I do resort to using digitally created art for card as it's a bit faster and it gives me the opportunity to experiment with different techniques, such as the sort of 'paper cutting' sort of look...I DO have to give the ending of LoZ
hantom Hourglass MUCH of the credit for the inspiration to explore such techniques and apply them to my card making...SO FUN!!! XD
Yesyes...I got the lil booger into Legend of Zelda at an early age...she doesn't yet play it as most of the game scares her a bit, but am sure when she's a lil older she'll definitely take interest in playing it! XDehe...and it also helps that I made/sewed her Link costume for Halloween last year(2009)...so yea...she's a fan no matter what! XDehe
ANYways!!! I think this is pretty self explanatory...my artwork created specifically for the card and envelope are presented here along with photos of the completed printed and assembled card and enveloped, along with the wrapping paper I also created, printed and wrapped about her birthday gifts...she's a BIG reader at her young age, so yea, those are books! ^_^V
The card itself folds to about 2.5"x3.5"...so it's an itty bitty card! cause it's INFINITELY cuter that way! XD
Artwork created in Photoshop 7.0...card art printed on matte finish photo paper, envelope and wrapping paper printed on plain ole inkjet/copy paper
P.S....I'd SO love to do all my Holiday card designs this way...but with the enormous amount of cards I'd have to produce, it's just WAY too time consuming ;_; and lordy knows I so lack that now >,< D'OH!!
